3 for 3...FNA man, FNA.

Well the past month of course has been crazy. Hurricanes and everything else has made life interesting. But we all have heard enough about that I'm sure. So I'm still in search for a job. And once again I found one. But of course it was A job and not THE job.

Flash back to about a week ago. There was a job fair at the convention center here in Mobile. While there I talked to a bank rep who didn't seem interested in me or anything at all actaully. But then I went to the financial services section of the fair. There I found a rep from Primerica Financial Services, who seemed pretty stoked with my background and education. He called later that day to set up an information session the next day. Which I went to. It turned out that Primerica is a financial service provider that help people make money through investments, especially after that retire. The information session was pretty weird though. All the speakers talked about was how great their job was and how much money they made. The speakers seemed really shady too. One wore an oversized suit with a black t-shirt and a gold chain. Another had big bug eyes that scared me---I still wake up in a cold sweat from nightmares I've had about his eyes. I ignored all of these signals because I am desperate. They were going to have an orientational session the next day. I decided to give it one more try. I got the same thing and a just little bit more info on the job. They offered me a job, while never really telling me what the job actually entailed and what exactly I will be doing. The whole experience reminded me of an infomercial in which they were selling the job to me rather than me having to sell myself to them (like what you are supposed to do in a real work environment). I gathered this much about the job though. It was very much like an insurance sales job but the insurance was more for retired people. They would look at a FNA, which is financial needs analysis, and set up an investment package that would make them over an extended period. Which doesn't sound too bad. But the process of how they find clients is something I don't want to do. You make a list of people you think will need help financially and go talk to them. And then you tell them to tell other people about you. Like I said very shady. After talking to my Mom. She said also that its very high pressure sales kind of like a car salesman. Not what I'm looking for at all. So I turned there offer down. So once again the search continues. And don't feel bad for me. I've got offerings for 3 different jobs. Unfortunately none were right for me. All I can say is FNA. FNA.

Cobb out!
